Dear Faculty

Welcome to the Student Career ePortfolio Website

Thank you for supporting this initiative. It is hoped that the ePortfolio will assist you in guiding our students in their career planning which is an important part of their development here at the University. Two years ago we kicked off a new program called the "Career Adventure Program". The goal of this program is to provide career development opportunities throughout the student's progression towards his or her degree. The first component of this program is the Student Career ePortfolio.

In the past two years, every new first year student received a career guide and binder for their portfolio, so to date, all sophomores and juniors should have a Career Portfolio. The objective is to get the portfolio and guide in the hands of our students early so they will do career planning with the assistance of their advisor, instructors and Career Services throughout their years at the University and not just a few weeks prior to graduation.

We are always thinking of ways to improve our service to our students so with this in mind, we are proud that this year is the first year that the Career Guide and the Student ePortfolio are accessible in electronic form. It is our hope that students will find the ePortfolio easy to use and that faculty and staff will have access to student information that will be useful to them in guiding their advisees and students towards their career goals.

In order to promote career planning by our students, I ask faculty, if appropriate, to encourage students to complete the various career planning exercises located in the Career Planning Guide which can be printed off. It is also hoped that you will remind students to put relevant career information and their best works in their ePortfolios which will assist the students in their career development.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, I encourage you to contact me. Thank you for your assistance.
