Associate Professor of Social Studies Education at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, tenure track, academic year position beginning September 2008. Qualifications required: Earned doctorate in social studies education or related area; experience teaching social studies with strengths in curriculum and instruction; at least three years of public school experience. Qualifications preferred: College teaching (also in graduate school), experience in student teaching supervision. Responsibilities: Teach courses in elementary and secondary social studies and other education courses as needed, work with partnership schools to deliver professional development opportunities and/or conduct action research.

The University of Maine at Presque Isle seeks a Medical Technologist with a Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) to teach MLT 203 Clinical Chemistry over compressed video. This is a 6-week course from May 19 to July 3 which can be taught from any location in Maine with access to compressed video.

TENURE TRACK POSITION in CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION
The Physical Education Program of the University of Maine at Presque Isle invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position in Curriculum and Instruction to begin August 2008. Located in Maine's beautiful north country with accessibility to numerous lakes, rivers and other picturesque natural features, the University of Maine at Presque Isle has long been recognized as the leader in the development of Physical Education teachers throughout the state and the region. Recently, a new Health and Education complex has been opened to serve the university and broader community.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: A Doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction is preferred (ABD considered). The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes in Planning & Methods of Elementary and Secondary Physical Education, Adapted Physical Education, other activity courses as needed, and to advise undergraduate students. The candidate may also teach Motor Learning/Motor Development and/or Measurement & Evaluation, and supervise student teachers.
We are seeking faculty who are attracted to teaching introductory, upper level, and interdisciplinary courses with research interests in undergraduate teaching. It is also preferred that the successful candidate have university and public school teaching experience.

Position: University of Maine at Presque Isle—Tenure Track Position in Recreation & Leisure Services
The Recreation and Leisure Services Program of the University of Maine at Presque Isle invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position. Located in Maine’s beautiful north country with its accessibility to numerous lakes, rivers and other picturesque natural features, the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Recreation and Leisure Services Program is one of a kind. Offering a unique integration of theoretical and applied perspectives, the program is extremely popular and demands a significant level of commitment in addition to high standards of academic excellence. The anticipated start date is August 2008. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities and duties include teaching general recreation courses with an emphasis on program development, facility design, commercial and community recreation, and management. Duties will include full-time teaching, academic advising, university and community service, scholarly research, and may include some supervision of internships.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree preferred (will consider ABD) with a minimum of one post-graduate degree in parks, recreation, and tourism studies or related fields. The University of Maine at Presque Isle is a rural, liberal arts college with an emphasis on professional programs. The Department of English and Fine Arts invites applications for an academic year, tenure track position to teach undergraduate courses in writing, literature (area of specialization open), and journalism. Areas of particular interest include print and broadcast journalism, New Media theory, and/or electronic literature. Position (4/4 load) includes considerable teaching in the general education curriculum. The anticipated start date is August, 2008. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
