The UMPI women's volleyball team showed great potential and
improvement as they hosted Husson College
on Wednesday evening. In the first game,
the Owls led for most of the match until the 20th point, but a
strong surge from the opponent gave the victory to Husson 30-22. UMPI played a very skilled second match,
exchanging the lead with their opponents until the end when a couple of
mistakes cost the Owls the match. The
final score of the second game was 30-28.
UMPI came back and put forth a great effort in the third match, but the
Owls were unable to defeat the Eagles and lost 30-16.
Despite their 3-0 loss to Husson, Coach Harriet Huntley was
very proud of her team, "They have progressed into a team to be reckoned
with." Their record stands at 3-6.
