2007-08 is a planning year grant funded by Nellie Mae for UMPI to investigate how the University can help Native American students achieve greater success in higher education.

Abstract

Grant Application  narrative_parts_1-5

This year we are working with a Community of Practice to investigate solutions to improve retention among Native American students.  Community of Practice members include UMPI faculty, administrators, and staff as well as the Education Directors of the Aroostook Band of Micmacs and the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians.
