The Curriculum Materials Center is an educational resource area designed primarily to aid students in education, social work, and human development. It covers levels K-12 and includes the following:
Children's and young adult literature, both fiction and non- fiction. Includes Caldecott and Newbery award winners.
A representative sampling of textbooks and textbooks series.
A collection of teaching units and plans in many subject areas.
Manipulatives, masters, games, filmstrips, kits, slides, realia, etc. Search on URSUS by subject search: Mathematics - Audio-visual aids, Social Sciences - Audio-visual aids, Language Arts - Audio-visual aids, etc.
A collection of publications provided as a community service, without charge, by Phi Delta Kappa and the Phi Delta Kappan Educational Foundation. New publications are added twice each year. The publications contribute to an understanding of the nature of the educative process and the relevance of education to human values. An example of monograph titles available is: Prototypes: An Anthology of School Improvement Ideas That Work 100 Ways to Enhance Self-Concept In the Classroom. The collection includes fastbacks, articles, usually under 50 pages; an example is "Meeting the Needs of Transient Students."
