Central Role of the Faculty:
The faculty is an integral part of the library’s collection development effort. The faculty, in conjunction with the Librarians, is responsible for structuring the library
collection so that the collection properly supports the curriculum of the University. Faculty should submit requests for books, journals, and other materials for the
library through their Area Coordinator. The library contains a number of sources to assist you in materials selection: Books in Print, Choice (a journal devoted
exclusively to reviews of materials in all fields and formats), Books for College Libraries, Ulrich’s International Periodicals Directory, and Magazines for
Libraries.
Ordering Books:
Faculty may order books and other non-journal materials in the following way:
Ordering Periodicals:
Requests for new journals or magazine subscriptions should be submitted to your Area Coordinator on a periodical request form. If you are requesting more than
one new periodical subscription, prioritize your requests as TOP, MEDIUM, LOW priority. The Coordinator will transmit all approved periodical requests to the
library.
