      Information Service policies cover reference desk services, bibliographic instruction, Library tours, Library orientation, and database searches.

Information Service:

      Reference Service is available to Library users during posted reference hours. The reference collection, located on the main floor, is included in the URSUS catalog, but its status is 'Library Use only' so materials do not circulate outside the building. Ready reference questions may be answered by telephone, time permitting, but for more extensive queries, patrons are asked to come to the Library Information Desk for assistance.

Electronic Reference Assistance

      The reference department has instituted an electronic reference service. Questions may be submitted electronically via our Ask-A-Librarian web page. Live help may be available. 

Types of Instruction:

     The library recognizes three types of group information/instruction categories, each with individual levels of service provided by the library: Bibliographic instruction; Orientation; and Tours.
