The Rare Books Collection consists of a small number of books,
pamphlets, and maps of some unique value. Most of these items are
from the 19th century. The emphasis of the Rare Books Collection
is on American history and literature.
Because of the rarity, age, and poor physical condition of the
materials in this collection, they must be used in the Special
Collections Room, and may circulate only with permission of the
Library Director. Within these limitations, all members of the
University community are welcome and encouraged to use the Rare
Books Collection.
All items in the Rare Books Collection are fully cataloged and
available on URSUS. Ask the
reference librarians for help in using this collection.
