| The coral reef environment
represents one of the most diverse ecological communities to be found on
the earth. These environments are typically found in shallow clear water
in tropical or sub tropical regions. The corals build a carbonate reefal structure that provides room and protection for a large variety of other organisms, which live together in intricate relationships. This environment is illustrated by a large mural and a collection of coral and other organisms. The mural includes corals, sea anenomes, sponges, sea urchins, mollusks, and fish.
