Academic and professional interests: Charlton Loder's academic interests deal with the ecology of terrestrial plants
and plant communities, especially their response to and recovery from wildfires. His current research is focused on the
development and effects of fires which burn organic soils (ground fires).

Academic and professional interests: Robert Pinette¹s academic interests deal with the taxonomy of molds and
mushrooms. He is currently developing courses in biotechnology. Areas of Research: Dr. Pinette's current
research interest is focused on wood-decaying fungi. This work involves field collections and cataloging of specimens including
the use of herbaria and computer databases to document the types of organisms which are responsible for disease of trees and
the degradation of wood.
