GeoEcology Club at the GSM Fall Meeting Held at Poland Spring, Oct. 26 |
|
|
Six members of the GeoEcology Club attended the GSM (Geological Society of Maine) 2006 fall meeting held at Poland Spring, Southwestern Maine on Friday, Oct. 26. Being the largest student delegation, UMPI students made contacts with professionals from geologic and geotechnical engineering firms and consulting agencies, and students and faculty from other colleges such as Bates College, Unity College, and UM. They learned a lot from the keynote address by Dr. Joe Kelly of UM on the Mississippi River Delta and Katrina titled The Birth, Death, and Re-Birth of the Mississippi River Delta: How Can People Live There? The following are some of the pictures taken during the meeting. |
