2007 NEIGC at Quebec City, Canada

(October 5, 6, and 7)

Professors Kevin McCartney, Dave Putnam, and Chunzeng Wang, along with Jeanie McGowan and 10 students attended the 99th (2006) NEIGC (New England Intercollegiate Geological Conference) conference held in Quebec City, Canada, from 5th to 7th of October 2007. They went on five different field trips, and had a great time in and around Quebec City. The number of UMPI students going to the NEIGC set a new historic record.  The appearance of a large UMPI group, the largest at the NEIGC, was again a surprise and a big shock to many conference attendants from the rest of the world.

(Dr. Dee Caldwell's widow, Marvin, and her mother were invited to be in the group picture. This year's NEIGC was dedicated to Dr. Dee Caldwell who was a retired professor from Boston University, who served as the NEIGC secretary for more than 25 years, and who donated his rock and mineral collection to UMPI before his pass away last year.)

The NEIGC attracts people from around the world.
