Mars Hill Mountain Field Trip Nov. 18, 2006
|
|
The GeoEcology Club organized and run a great field trip to the Mars Hill Mountains, Nov. 18, 2006. Drs. Kevin McCartney and Chunzeng Wang led the trip. Thank god, it was an exceptional beautiful day during this cold and rainy season. The group witnessed the installation of a windmill tower and explored the wind energy. The group learned a lot about the Mars Hill Mountain geology and how geologists interpret the origin of the unique Mars Hill Mountain conglomerate as well. The following are some of the pictures taken during the trip. To join the GeoEcology Club and to have fun, contact the club officers. |
