Amnesty International
| Purpose: |
To bring people together to work to protect the human rights
of all people. Amnesty International's mandate encompasses three main goals:
1. The release of prisoners of conscience -
men, women, and children imprisoned for their beliefs, color, sex, ethnic,
origin, language, or religion, provided
they have neither used nor advocated violence.
2. Fair and prompt trials for all political
prisoners.
3. An end to torture and execution in all cases.
Amnesty International is not affiliated with any political organization
and is a grass roots movement. We do not expose or adopt any political
ideologies.

Aroostook County Search and Rescue
| Purpose: |
The purpose of the U.M.P.I. SAR Club is to provide a service
to all surrounding populations in regards to wilderness search and rescue.
Members of the group receive professional training in regards to both ground
and technical search and rescue, as well as a membership to the National
Association of Search and Rescue.

OAPI is committed to providing safe, challenging, and enjoyable
outdoor activities designed to enhance the personal growth and development
of students, faculty, and staff of the University of Maine at Presque Isle
