McCartney abstract Zolnik, R., McCartney, K. and White, L. D. (1992): Siliceous sponge spicules from ODP Site 795. Ocean Drilling Program, Scientific Reports, 127:541-544.

Siliceous sponge spicules are present in sediments drilled during Leg 127. The sponge spicule abundances are tabulated for Hole 795A. Pliocene and Pleistocene sponge spicules consist mostly of monaxons, sporatically intermixed with isochelae, polyaxons, and other spicule morphologies.
